Go Hunt for Nuts!!!

When I grow up I wanna be a motivational speaker and that has been my dream for a very long time. Do I really wanna grow up??? No, not really, but I believe that I can attain my dream without having to grow up.

For as long as I can remember I have stood on anything I can find that would elevate me just a bit. I'd jump up on top of that elevated surface and speak from my heart to an imaginary crowd, all fired up and ready to motivate.

Since those days, I have come around to some clarifying experiences that have helped me to realize that I could never be a motivational speaker. Don't get too exasperated. Do you want to know why I have come to that conclusion? Well, I'll tell you.

I can not be a motivational speaker because motivation comes from within yourself. I couldn't motivate a squirrel to hunt for nuts if I tried, and I have. I, honestly, laid out some nuts on my back deck, waited and watched to see if I could convince the squirrel to come get the nuts. No go. Many other circumstances have clarified the fact that I, simply, CAN NOT WANT IT BAD ENOUGH FOR YOU or anyone else.

You know what I can do? I can inspire you. I can be energetic and I can be on fire. I can feel love coursing through me and I can live my life as an example, it makes me feel good anyway. So, I am doing it for myself, but if you want to be inspired? I certainly can inspire, but the motivation piece of this deal, is all on you buddy.

So, my clarifying experiences have created a more specific dream. When I grow up I want to be an inspirational speaker. And do you know what else? I already am. I am all grown up and I am inspiring people all over the place, just by being me and living my passion for life. Loving. Laughing. Hugging and having fabulous days, because that, my friends, is what life is all about.

We came here for the fun. We came here to enjoy. We came here to grow and expand. So, let's do it!!! Anyone can be a member of Team Apozitude. It's all inclusive. So, find something that makes you smile and march to the beat of your own drum.

A million flickering stars

The topic of inspiration came up the other day. I was listening to someone tell me about the qualities they are looking for in a mate. There were about 5 items on the check off list; ability to pay their own way, independence, reliability, physical attraction and inspires creativity. This was not an in-depth conversation, we were at happy hour and libations were being consumed.

I understand and agree in general with these attributes being desirable in a mate, but I got to thinking about inspiration and I thought it might be a good time to add a little clarification on the subject of inspiration.

If you break inspiration down into its core parts you have "in" and you have "spirit", therefore to look to someone else for your sense of inspiration will keep you on a never-ending and exhausting journey that will fall short every time.

Instead, sit still and quiet with your self. Watch sunlight light up all the beautiful colors of the leaves. Watch a child play and laugh. Watch a dog run across the park. Listen to the wind rustling through the leaves. Watch the birds sway on the branches of trees. Take the time to BE with yourself and search within yourself and there you will find an unlimited amount of inspiration.

20140511-180602.jpgSometimes simply by sitting the soul collects wisdom and inspiration. The more you connect with this still quiet place with yourself, the more your eyes, ears and heart will open up to the inspiration that is swirling all around you like a million stars flickering in the universe.

What was my point???

All that we let in, by the Indigo Girls is a very soothing song to me. I don't always get all the political references, because I don't follow politics per se. It is a little bit scary for me to admit that because it seems that most people feel we should be paying close attention to what is going on in the world. I am more concerned with what is going on in me. I can only change the world one person at a time and that one person is me.

I just went to CCN.com to reference some political stuff that I don't really know about to prove a point about the news and politics and how it makes me feel and true to form, the point of this blog has totally changed as I was writing.

I will, hopefully, get back to the original point, but I think it's important to follow the flow of energy. I was going to write about how the only control I have is of myself, but that is not even the very original thought when I led in with the Indigo Girls song, but like I said before, hopefully I will get back to that original thought.

20131229-152205.jpgMy daily goal is to feel good, to be happy and to feel love. In the past, I have found that listening to or reading the news hasn't really served my daily goal. So, I went to the damn CNN to gather supporting information and much to my surprise found a story about a Boy Scout leader in Utah. This man took his son, a Boy Scout, down to bear witness of marriage and arrived to find hundreds of people, gay people, waiting in long lines to get married because of the awesome action that the Judge Robert J. Shelby took to strike down the law that denies same sex couples the right to be married. What an amazing thing to be surprised by. The courthouse clerks worked through their lunches to get as many couples married as they could and the Boy Scout leader went down to the closest pizza place and brought back 10 pizzas to feed the employees and the gay couples that had been waiting for so long to get married.

And I'll be damned if it don't admit, reading that particular news story did make me feel good. I got cold chills running up and down my arms and legs. So, it seems rather than proving my point that reading the news doesn't serve my daily goal to feel good, instead I was able to prove my original point, that we ARE better off for all that we let in. Wow! I am all over the place.

Inspiration is everywhere.

On my way here

I feel so empowered and confident when I am belting out the words of the song, On My Way Here, by Clay Aiken. It is such a powerful song for me. I literally listen to it every single day. In fact, I am listening to it on repeat right now as I am writing this blog post.

I feel like I can do anything when I am listening to the words, on my way here, where I am now, I've learned to fly, I have to want to leave the ground, I've fallen hard, but I've been loved, and in the end it all works out, my faith has conquered fear, on my way here.

It feels so amazing to feel the power of pure confidence and this song gives me that feeling. When I hear this song, I always imagine myself walking out on to a stage and I begin to give an inspirational talk with the words, I've seen the best and I've seen the worst, and I wouldn't change what I've been through. I've touched the sky, I've hit the wall, but I did what I had to, on my way here.

As I look out over a crowd of people I see that they are excited to be here, in my audience. Some have traveled a bit to be here and some are lucky enough to live in the city in which I am speaking. In either case, they all have their notebooks out, eager to write down whatever it is that strikes them as a little nugget of wisdom that has totally shifted their paradigm. It's that one thing that I am able to say in just the right way that sinks in this time. It seems very familiar, because they have heard something like it before, but just the right Apozitude version of it really makes sense and changes their perspective on life. Sometimes it's a small little shift that people will feel and other times it changes someone's life forever, in a way they never even knew was possible.

I have been to conferences that changed my perspective and then ultimately changed my life. I love the feeling of being alive and living in the moment. That is what Apozitude is about for me. Being right here, right now, and feeling the power of total awareness. I am aware that I can make a difference in my life by focusing on the positive. I am aware that awakening other people to this concept is my passion and that is the reason I. Am. Here!!! You are reading this blog post right now, so welcome to the launching pad of a little rocket called Apozitude. We are ready for take off.

I truly believe that in the end it all works out. I believe this dream of mine is becoming my reality and it just may start with you. If you know someone that would like to have an inspiration speaker for an upcoming event, let me know. I'd love the opportunity to speak publicly.

Can I predict the future?

Do I really want to be an inspirational public speaker? Yes!!!

Is being an inspirational public speaker right for my core value? Absolutely, my core value is love and I value the core value in others. I am catalyzed by working toward an inspired vision of what can be by nurturing the core value in others.

Do I believe it is possible for me to become an inspirational speaker? I believe I already am an inspirational speaker!!! Do I believe I can be a traveling inspirational speaker to millions of people? Yes I do.

Do I believe I will be a better person? I am always the best person I can be, but yes, I believe I will be a better person. Do I believe my life will be improved? Yes, yes I do!!! I believe that it is already in motion, so thank you for the guidance to realizing my destiny!!!

Can I visualize it in all aspects? Yes I can! There may be some details that my conscious mind is unaware of, but I know that my subconscious mind has all the answers and I can be, do and have anything my conscious mind can think of.

Do I have complete faith that the Creative Intelligence inside me will assist me with bringing forth my desire to become an inspirational public speaker? Yes!!! I do!!! I believe that Creative Intelligence already has it all worked out and me? Well, I am simply allowing all of that delicious plan to fall perfectly into place.

So, can I predict the future? Nope, but I can create it!!!

Acceptance as a tool

I love loving people. I love to see the expression on the face of a person that just realized they can make a change in their lives. In the past this has been a challenging aspect for me regarding this idea of motivating people. YES!!! I can inspire people, BUT,.... We as individuals are the only ones that can actually motivate ourselves.

Utilizing acceptance as a tool, has enabled this reality to become one of the most rewarding realizations.

I have no control over anyone else. It is so liberating. This realization frees up my entire future to focus on the ONLY person I have any control over and that is ME!

No matter how much I love someone else, I can not love them into making better choices for themselves. The best thing I can do is to live my life making the best choices I can make for myself and trust that anyone that is open to making better choices for themselves will be watching.

Perhaps they will be inspired to make a change, but they have to want it for it to happen. They have to want it and they have to decide what they are going to do and when and how.

Even if they say they want it and don't take action, that is their choice.

You have the same glorious power for yourself. When you want to make a change you have to decide for yourself and put a plan of action into place.

This blog is the result of my decision and my plan in action.
