Keep Them Guessing

This last weekend we took a trip to the beach and one evening we were totally surprised by what we observed. We were enjoying the view of the sunset from our beach rental and right in front of our bay windows we watched a white SUV park in the look out area provided in front of our rental.

It was a Cadillac and very nice. We watched as the driver got out of the car. She was an older woman and once she got out of the vehicle we watched her reach back into the car for something. As we watched her step back from the vehicle, I wondered if she was by herself or if there would be others piling out of the SUV.

It turned out that she was alone. She stood in the grassy area next to her Cadillac and watched the ocean waves come and go for a little bit and then to our surprise she whipped out a bottle of bubbles. We watched as she dipped the wand into the soapy water and slowly raised her arm so the wand would reach her lips. The little wand shook just a bit as she held it in front of her lips, then she let out a deep exhalation. She set free several bubbles from the wand. She did this repeatedly.

I told Keri she should take her picture and Keri said, "You do it." So, I hustled over to my flip-flops with my iPhone in hand and at the edge of the drive way I stood balancing my camera/iPhone propped up on a fence post and snapped her picture several times. I seemed as though she noticed me because she turned my way and blew bubbles in my direction. I hollered across the street to her, "I love it!!!". She didn't respond verbally she just kept blowing her bubbles.

I went back inside and watched her blow a few more bubbles and then as if it were nothing at all she just got back in her car and drove off. It was interesting. It created a little stir in me. It made me want to be an interesting person that surprises people and then I remembered something I did over the weekend. I realized I already am an interesting person that surprises people. I'll share that story in another blog.

Hmmm,... That's very interesting.

What an amazing realization I've had today!!!

Try to guess what I'm going to do. Guess! C'mon,... just guess. Ok, I'll tell you. Here's what I'm going to do. I am going to share this realization with you. Yes, I am because that's just the KIND of person that I AM. Before, I might just blurt out this amazing realization, but today I am going to preface it with a disclaimer and I'll explain why.

Have you ever been explaining something to someone and they respond to you repeatedly during the conversation with, "I know" or "Yes, I know,... but"? Like when you tell your friend, "Your boyfriend is mistreating you. You deserve better. You have a choice. You can draw a line in the sand" and he or she says, "I know, but if I,... blah blah blah then maybe he'll see how much I love him". This response is the perfect example of someone saying I know, but actions speak louder than words. You SAY 'I know" your actions holler out, "I have no idea what I am doing and why this KEEPS happening". The difference is "knowing" something and "living" something. Knowing is a totally different thing all together than living.

The reason I provided this example is because the amazing realization that I had today is one of those things for me. I have been knowing what I am about to share with you and I've been spouting off about it for a good long time, however I felt a huge shift in my awareness today like the knowledge sunk in deeper and with this shift I vow to myself to LIVE the realization. You're dying to know what it is, aren't you? I know, hee hee

The amazing realization I had today was this, I have been given a gift. That gift is this day. What will I do with this gift? I'll tell you what I'm going to do. I'm going to enjoy it. I am going to enjoy it no matter what the external conditions include. I know we've all heard it before, Today is a gift, that is why we call it the present. BUT in the past I knew it. Yeah yeah, I know! (dismissively)

Today I will LIVE it!!! Today and every day for the rest of my life. My day, my choice, my gift, my happiness. The totally cool thing about this is, if you are reading this right now, you have been given this gift too. Your gift, your day, your choice. What will you do with yours?

I recommend a celebration. Celebrate you! Celebrate your ability to make a choice. Celebrate your decision to celebrate. Dance around and get giddy. If you don't like it, that's ok, IT IS your choice.

Happy Fourth of July everyone!!!

What is your life's purpose???

pwha phwa phwa phwa

The sound of my favorite stout evacuating the growler and relocating to the pint glass. As I pour the delicious liquid, it slowly glides down the inside of the glass down and swirls into a yummy pool at the bottom, it slightly tints the glass with a dark chocolatey hue. Is the liquid excited to live out it's purpose? Which in my perspective is to satisfy my taste,... Does the liquid care? If everything is made of energy and has an awareness,... Is the liquid aware that it exists to please my taste buds?

How many people wonder if their favorite beer is living or not? Furthermore, if by some bizarre fact that it does actually LIVE, how many are contemplating if the beer is pleased with its life by satisfying my taste?

Wait a minute,... Let's look at this concept for a moment. Is my beer alive? What is beer? Beer is an alcoholic beverage that is made out of grains: wheat, barley and hops. Which are plants that are growing and living,.... I'm just sayin',... Follow me here!!!

Ok, so the plants (wheat, barley and hops) used to create beer, do they lose their essence when they transition from living plant into ingredients? Some part of their living time has to retained within them as they transition to the form that is used to create beer, which is what they currently are,... Right?

So, as a seed grows onto a plant and a plant grows into a blossom, fruit or vegetable,...so does a grain that grows into a beer. It is that LIVING part of that being's existence, that wants to achieve its purpose and to feel satisfied knowing as it is poured down my throat it's dancing with my taste buds, and in doing so has totally and completely lived a life, satisfied.

Shit! I better finish this beer,... I don't want to deny him of his life's purpose.
